We save Polish monuments in Ukraine
“We save Polish monuments in Ukraine” – this is a project currently being implemented by the More Than Poland Foundation. Its main goal is to fight against the devastation of Polish cultural property and to protect works of art located in Ukraine.
Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Polish monuments, sacral buildings, elements of small architecture, symbols of Polish statehood and culture have become the target of Russian attacks. Particularly vulnerable to attacks are historic sacral objects and sculptures, paintings, engravings, graphics, goldsmith products, ceramics, and other relics of religious worship, which are the cultural heritage of Poland and an important element in strengthening ties between the Polish and Ukrainian nations.
The More Than Poland Foundation has started technical and personnel support for securing historic, cultural, and sacral buildings, implemented with the help of groups of volunteers operating in Lviv and other cities and towns in Ukraine. The activities are carried out based on the instructions for the protection of monuments developed by specialists.
The project is financed by the ORLEN for Pomerania Foundation.
